Meghalaya
Birding tour of South Garo and Khasi Hills
The bird life of north-east India is said to be second only to that of South America. Apart from having a very large list due to the fact that it sits on the edge of the Palearctic and Indomalayan regions it also hosts a large number of species that are either rare, endemics or restricted-range species of global conservation importance. Meghalaya or specifically South Garo Hills and Khasi hills were regions where most of the ornithological activity in the discovery of the Northeast happened. Over time due to various reasons, this fell off the birder’s map.
Now is a chance to re-discover this region.
There is a pre-tour covering Kaziranga and Manas & a post-tour for a leisure stay at Shillong.
This tour is intended for serious birders as well as bird photographers looking for the North-east experience
