9 Days of Birding Discoveries
Mishmi Hills in the Dibang Valley district has ranges that go into China. We would be following this along two districts Roing and Anini. This is a region of high rainfall and great variance in altitude resulting in a mega-biodiversity hotspot. Home to a huge number of Mammals, Birds and Butterflies. Most famous for its endemic Mishmi Wren Babbler and Mishmi Takin.
With more than 500 species of birds recorded here, the iconic ones would be Sclater’s Monal, Satyr Tragopan, Blood Pheasant, Ward’s Trogon, Gould’s Shortwing, Fire-tailed Myzornis, Pale-headed Woodpecker, Liochichla, Babblers, laughingthrushes and a whole army of exotic names that would hit you in waves. In this trip, we hope to sight birds out of the ordinary as we explore regions further north and east that’s rarely explored.
