Cicada invites you to join us on an adventure into the forests of India.
Mingle with nature in its primordial form and yet get the comfort that you will crave for when you come back to your room after a safari or the nature walk.
Meet like minded people and discuss the latest sightings of the day while you huddle around the bonfire.
You will feel and experience the stillness around the jungles except for an occasional sound of birds and animals.
The sunset and sunrise are your clocks here and the whistling of the wind or the water flowing by is music. The glory of nature is on full display.
Your stay at Cicada will leave you with a beautiful understanding of the wilderness and its occupants and a yearning to come back for more.

Kabini

Cicada-Kabini is located in a village called Karapura, 220 kms away from Bangalore, near the Rajiv Gandhi National Park and is adjacent to the Kabini River Lodge property. Our resort is strategically located on the banks of the magnificent Kabini River and serves as a wonderful gallery for viewing wildlife.
The Kabini River runs between Bandipur and Nagarahole, two of the richest National Parks at the foothills of the Western Ghats in Southern India. These forests cover around 1500 sq. km (580 sq. miles) and are a mix of tropical moist and dry deciduous types.
The region around Kabini river supports tree species like Teak, Mathi, Dindla, Sandalwood, Rosewood and many more along with bamboo and other grasses.
The fauna boasts more than 300 species of birds, including the endemic Malabar Trogon and Malabar Pied Hornbill, the Crested Hawk-eagle as well as an impressive assemblage of herbivores like the Asiatic Elephant, the Gaur (Indian Bison) and the Sambar. Which results in a high density of prey in this region.
This in turn, supports a large and thriving population of predators like the Tiger (incidentally, the Nagarahole region is said to have the highest density of Tigers in India), the Leopard and the Indian Wild Dog.
The backwaters of the Kabini reservoir are now an important perennial water source where one can witness the largest and most spectacular congregations of Asiatic Elephants during peak summers.

Bandipur

Cicada Bandipur, unlike any other resort in the region, is situated very close to the Bandipur National Park. Bandipur as you know, teems with wildlife, and provides a safe haven to a wide swathe of wildlife, which includes the Four horned Antelope, Gaur, Asiatic Elephant, Leopard, Sloth bear, black napped hare, black leopard and a host of bird species like the Barbet, Babbler, Warbler and the Indian Peafowl.
And because Cicada-Bandipur rubs shoulders with the National Park, it provides for an experience quite unlike anything you've ever experienced. It isn't uncommon to hear the calls of animals and the trumpeting of elephants as they pass by the resort. Moreover, we aim to enhance the experience in just a little while; when we hope animals will stop by at the water-hole and salt lick that's right within the resort itself. Already large herds of Cheetal have been spotted near the water-hole and we are expecting the other species to also join in to enhance your experience.
Among other things, Cicada-Bandipur offers a panoramic breathtaking view of the magnificent Nilgiris. Look out of your bedroom and you’ll be presented with a perpetually changing view of the Nilgiris. One moment it’s misty, the other it’s shrouded in shadows. Then when you least expect it, it’s jaw-droppingly spectacular. While soaking in the view is an activity in itself, you'll see that the list of things to do is limited only by the time you have.

Chikamagalur - The Serai

Whilst the Turkish interpretation of Serai is ‘a palace of the Sultan’, the Persian version means a comfortable, accommodative place where intrepid travellers and battle-weary soldiers rested and recuperated from their rigours and travels across inhospitable terrain. The Serai is the perfect blend of both those definitions! A luxury oasis of peace and tranquility that refreshes mind and body; a well deserved respite from modern day travails, trials and tribulations.
To describe The Serai as a haven to rejuvenate oneself is an understatement! Here, in its exclusive environs, you reconnect with yourself - physically, mentally and emotionally. Ensconced within the embrace of nature, The Serai creates an ambience where you will feel an innate alignment with nature, all at once transporting you into a state of tranquility and serenity. The Serai is unique for the fact it is luxury perfectly in tune with the fecundity of nature, and a one-of-a-kind destination where you will discover ‘the Lap of Luxury’ and ‘the Lap of Nature’ in the self-same instant.
